Track/Rink Progress

Construction of the Red Rock Cup rink and track began on Saturday, January 7, as volunteers and organizers took the first steps toward transforming Lake Superior’s natural ice into a long-distance skating course.

The rink and first 10km of the track were made on February 8th, with the first flood taking place on February 9th.

Because the rink and track are shaped by weather, ice conditions, and community effort, their progress will continue to evolve. Check back here for updates, photos, and stories as the rink and track come to life.

The Red Rock Cup is a natural ice event and is fully dependent on weather and ice conditions. Event dates, rink availability, and scheduled activities may be adjusted to ensure participant safety and the best possible experience. Please check the website and official channels regularly for the most up-to-date information.
